Ad Astra, known to her friends as Alex, was born and bred in northwest England but has been resident in Malmö, Sweden since 2018. Classically trained in music, she has been scribbling out melodies for as long as she has been able to write. When she fell in love with trance in late 2014, she got herself a copy of Ableton and started recreating the sounds which were the soundtrack to magical nights out in London, Amsterdam, Switzerland, and beyond.

Ad Astra’s second track, Radiant Soul, a collaboration with the talented Harshil Kamdar, was released on the legendary In Trance We Trust on 18 November 2022. Her debut track Blankensee, a collaboration with Canadian powerhouse Yelow, was released on Black Hole Recordings in August 2020. Blankensee, named after the village in Germany where Ad Astra first got to know Yelow, enjoyed coverage from Dennis Sheperd during his Unkonscious set in January 2020, and from Markus Schulz on ‘In Search of Sunrise 16’ and his unforgettable Shadow Mountain livestream in 2021.
